UPDATE FROM LITTLE BEAR
for Baby William
February 8, 2002

Dear Friends and Family,

Yesterday, the hospital here in San Antonio, Texas, did a brain scan to little Williams head and the good news is that there seems to be a stop to further pressure from the brain bleed, and the clotting seems to be dissolving. William has gained 7 ounces, and now weighs 1 pound 11 ounces. He has opened his eyes, and his body movements are not as jerky and now he moves much smoother. It is neat to see those tiny little hands move and rub his head or just sort of feel the air around him. What a wonder to see God's creation! If you think for a moment, a person usually does not get to see a baby until the baby is 9 months old and fully developed. Because baby William came out 16 weeks early and is very much alive, we are seeing his development outside the womb. I can see why the Bible says we are, "fearfully and wonderfully made."

Whenever we visit, we talk to William softly and tell him he is a special little boy, and the Lord Jesus is taking special note of him. I read Psalms and we all sweetly sing to him. Whenever I read Bible passages of hope and encouragement, I get all choked up and can hardly finish the Bible verse. This has been very hard on us all. I am so tender that I cry all the time and cannot help it. I am getting emotionally stronger, though, every day, but have lapses from time to time. I am glad the Lord gave me only one meeting for February this year, because it would be difficult going to minister weekly like I generally do. Since I book my meetings a year in advance, I believe the Lord must have know that baby William was going to be born ahead of time and made arrangements for me to be here.

PRAYER TARGETS:
1. Pray every day for Williams's brain to completely heal.
2. Pray that William be healed from the hydrocephalous and will not require any surgery for a shunt.
3. Pray that William's lungs will grow stronger and that he will begin to use less respirator and more his own lungs
.

In His Providential care,
"Little Bear"
